Neck Pain

photo (1) Often people will report having neck pain.  Many of these people will report that the pain will travel either up theie neck or down into the shoulder even into the arm.  These conditions usually involve the nerves that are part of a complex called the Brachial Plexus.  The Brachial Plexus which is shown in the images to the side are the nerves that send infomation to the shoulder and the entire arm.

These nerves as you can see have to pass between a network of muscles to get down to the arm.  Extra tension or irritation of these muscles can cause local or radiating pain into the arm.  Your chiropractor can examine this area to determine if the Brachial plexus is being irritated.

photo (3)One of the main causes of irritation to this area is bad posture.  As people allow there upper back to slump forward and their shoulders to round to the front.  These muscles can become very tight and very easily irritate the nerves in the aera.  Chronic bad posture can also lead to joints becoming misaligned and over time can cause damage to the spinal bones.

photoIf you have pain/discomfort in this area you should get it looked at as soon as possible by a Chiropractor. They will diagnose the problem and help you design a plan to correct it.
