Shiatsu Therapy- Jen Trembay

Shiatsu therapy is a non-invasive therapy that uses finger pressure along the various meridians of the body. This is done to improve organ function and restore balance. Shiatsu treatments have a stabablizing effect on the autonomic nervous system. Literally translated, Shiatsu is a Japanese word for finger pressure.

Before beginning treatiment the therapist will go through a complete health history to determine what is the best course of care for each person.

This treatment is done on a mat on the floor and the therapist uses their fingers thumbs and palms to apply consistent pressure along the meridian being treated.

Shiatsu is done fully clothed. During regular massage therapy the client disrobes and is covered with sheets. In shiatsu therapy the person remains clothed for the entire treatment, so the clients are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothing so the therapist can easily contact the different meridian points.
