Far Infrared Sauna
Sauna is a great way to boost metabolism and gently detoxify your body. In just 30 minutes you can easily sweat out numerous toxins, increase your metabolism and feel very relaxed. It is the perfect way to end your day.
Far infrared sauna therapy can be combined with many of the other types of care provided at Preston Health Collective or accessed as a stand-alone treatment.
Many clients like to pair a massage with a sauna session to experience greater muscle relaxation and stress relief.
Sauna also combines well with personal training and weight loss programs as it intensifies the sweating both pre and post workout. It also serves to upregulate the metabolism to ultimately burn more calories.
Burn 600-1200 Calories in a 40 Minute Session: As the body works to cool itself, there is substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. 40 Minutes in the Far-Infrared Sauna is equivalent in cardiovascular training effect to a 10-12 km run or 20 minutes of aerobics. While the weight of the water lost can be regained by re-hydration with water, the calories will not be.
