Far Infrared Sauna FAQ
How long do you sauna for?
Normally, a sauna session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.
What do I wear?
Ideally, you wear as little clothing as possible so the light rays produced by the sauna can pass deep to the skin, However, as with all treatments at our centre the client is always in control so you can decide to wear what ever amount of clothes you feel comfortable wearing.
How often do I need to sauna?
As with all treatments that answer is specific to each person, however as a general rule we encourage our clients to do a package of 6 sessions in the spring and 6 in the fall.
Who is allowed to go in the sauna?
Before trying the sauna a brief consultation is required with one of our doctor to ensure that it is appropriate for that client to use the sauna. For example, pregnacy is contraindicated with this type of sauna as the heat passes so deep to the skin.
Sometimes I have trouble breathing when it is warm, is far infrared sauna a good idea?
Each new client is unique, however the sauna time and temperature are completely up to the client taking the sauna. The best way to determine comfort level is to call and arrange a time to try a short session and see how your body responds. If at any time you felt uncomfortable you can turn the sauna off and exit the sauna and the surrounding cooler air will help restore a more comfortable environment.
